A Mid- Semester Update

It's Hard to believe that is already October! But as we round the corner of the last stretch of this semester, the Wesley Foundation is excited about all of the wonderful events and conversations we have already been able to participate in!

This semester we have engaged in Weekly Dinner and Bible Study. Our theme this semester has been, Who's in the Bible? Under this theme we have covered topics such as How we name God in the Bible, Critters & Creatures in the Bible, The Unnamed in the Bible, and even Tragedies and Hard Things in the Bible. In our time together we have communed in both large and small groups. As we do so, we are continuing to ask hard questions and journeying with one another as we continue to develop and deepen our faith.

In our learning and journeying, we have also been building community through our meal times together. We have had tasty meals, and both our campus minister and some of our students have tried their hand in the Kitchen! We have had everything from Pasta to stuffed chicken, and it has been delicious! But more than tasty food, these meals times have made space for our Wesley Foundation members to bond with one another and feel loved.

But that's not all! While weekly meals and Bible Study make up much of our programming, this semester we were thrilled to host a Let's Talk About Sex Baby! Panel, where students were able to converse with

Theologians, Bible Scholars, and Faith Practitioners from around nashville. This program allowed students across the Fisk campus to explore questions around what we have previously been taught about Sex, Sexuality, the Bible and Faith. It was a wonderful experience and students were not only highly engaged, but came away wanting to continue the conversations that started in the space.

As we make our way through October we are excited about our end of the month programming! We are planning for an end of the Month Movie Night, and also a Vaccination Clinic on Campus. We will be offering free Flu and COVID vaccines to any students ( or faculty) who need them! We are prayerful that the event will be very successful.

This semester has already brought us so many moments of learning, growth, and community, and we cannot wait to see what the last months of the semester will hold!
